International Privacy Addendum
This International Privacy & Data Transfer Addendum (“Addendum”) supplements the Book It Rides Privacy Policy and applies to business users and Operators located outside the United States.
It explains cross-border data processing and clarifies Operator responsibilities for end-customer data handled through the Service.
0 How this Addendum Works
This Addendum is incorporated by reference into the Privacy Policy. It applies only if you access or use the Service from outside the United States.
This Addendum applies only to business users and Operators acting in a commercial capacity. It does not grant rights to consumers or End-Customers of Operators, does not create a direct relationship between Book It Rides and any End-Customer, and does not convert Book It Rides into a transportation provider.
In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service control except with respect to data protection matters expressly governed by a valid Data Processing Addendum (DPA), which shall control solely for that limited purpose.
1 Scope & Key Definitions
- “International User” means any business user, Operator, or entity accessing the Service from outside the United States.
- “Operator” means an independent transportation provider using the Service.
- “End-Customer” means a rider or customer of an Operator.
2 U.S.-Based Processing & Cross-Border Transfers
The Service is operated from the United States. Personal data processed through the Service may be processed and stored in the United States. By using the Service, International Users acknowledge and understand that personal data may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Where required by applicable law, cross-border transfers are governed by contractual mechanisms set forth in an applicable Data Processing Addendum (DPA) executed between the parties. This Addendum is a notice supplement and does not itself constitute an executed transfer mechanism.
Cross-border transfers may be required for hosting, support, security, analytics, and core platform operations.
3 No Blanket Representation of Foreign Privacy Law Compliance
Book It Rides does not make a general representation that it complies with every privacy, consumer, or data localization law outside the United States. If Book It Rides offers a specific contractual addendum (e.g., a DPA) to address specific regulatory requirements, it will be offered separately and will control solely for that limited subject matter.
If you require contract-grade terms for a specific legal regime, you must execute them separately via DocuSign or Adobe Sign.
Nothing in this Addendum shall be interpreted as expanding Book It Rides’ obligations, assuming controller responsibilities, or creating compliance representations beyond those expressly set forth in a duly executed written agreement.
4 Operator Data Responsibilities
Operators are independent businesses. Operators are solely responsible for complying with applicable privacy and consumer laws governing End-Customer data they collect, including providing required notices, obtaining valid consents, honoring opt-outs, and responding to requests.
Book It Rides provides software functionality and processes data as needed to operate, maintain, secure, and support the Service.
5 Data Requests & Limitations
Requests to access, delete, correct, or restrict data may be limited where necessary to comply with U.S. law, maintain security, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, or preserve records required for legitimate business purposes.
Operators should direct End-Customer requests to the Operator that provided the transportation services, where applicable.
6 Security
Book It Rides implements commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect data processed through the Service. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7 Retention
Book It Rides retains data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security and audit records.
8 Changes to this Addendum
We may update this Addendum from time to time. Updates are effective when posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Addendum.
